About the event
FörderFreunde Event: Thomas Küster and Michael Suermann – Reading & Live Music: In 20 Kilo to Rome
A golden VW Beetle, “Goldie” – a 1974 Sun Bug – rolls into the exhibition, bringing with it a story of departure, chance encounters and closeness. What begins with a fasting bet turns into a road trip to Rome: 4 countries, 6 nights, 7 fuel stops and many small moments that stay with you.
An evening between words, sound and the feeling of the open road: author Thomas Küster reads, tells stories and improvises. Michael Suermann, also known as MSolo, adds guitars, loops and soundscapes – not as background music, but as a second narrative voice. In 20 Kilo to Rome is not a traditional reading, but an atmospheric journey: from everyday life onto the road, from the museum into motion. And at the centre of it all is Petra – quietly present, the calm heart of this tour.
Road trip in keywords:1 car · 2 people · 3 litres of oil · 4 countries · 6 nights · 7 fuel stops – and countless encounters you do not look for on the road, but find along the way.
Why at the PS.SPEICHER?
This is where stories of mobility, people and mechanics come together. “Goldie” belongs here: rolling cultural heritage that shows how technology and emotion can meet.
Thomas Küster is an author, educator and classic car enthusiast. He connects everyday life and adventure through calm, clear language.
Michael Suermann (MSolo) composes, improvises and gives stories a sound of their own – sometimes quiet, sometimes surging, always close to the moment.
An evening that sounds like the road and carries a sense of freedom – for everyone who enjoys road stories, classic car atmosphere and live music.
Admission to the event is €10. FörderFreunde enjoy free admission. Spontaneous guests are welcome, but unfortunately a guaranteed seat cannot be offered without prior booking.
