FörderFreunde lecture: Daniela Rieß: Daring motorcycle world tour - traveling in a peaceful world

After a wonderful motorcycle vacation through Thailand and Laos, the crisis caught us unprepared: Is this what the rest of our lives look like? Working 11 months a year for another twenty years to take a great vacation, and then working 11 months again.

Even with good jobs, friends and hobbies, this perspective seems a bit unappealing to us. There has to be more to life. And we make a decision: we'll take some time off and circumnavigate the earth on two motorcycles.

On our journey from Erding to Mongolia, Europe and South America we experienced a lot of stories:

• Funny stories about how we ended up in a supra in a remote meadow in Georgia and were showered with wine, food and liquor.
• Heartwarming stories of how we received help and gifts from people who were completely unknown to us and who also had much less than us.
• Exciting stories of how we had to deal with corrupt police officers in a police station in Azerbaijan...

Daniela Rieß, born in 1970, took a break in 2019 after more than 20 years of software development and project management to go on a trip around the world with her partner: from Erding to Mongolia, especially in Europe during the pandemic and later in South America. This break has now lasted more than 4 years and will probably continue for a little longer.
