About the event

Herwig Wittlake and other speakers from  Mercedes Benz IG e,V. Weserbergland deal with the exciting and highly topical   topic of 'sustainably mobile - and having fun'. Older cars are often seen as 'polluters', which   need to be replaced with new - more environmentally friendly -  as quickly as possible  bad5cf58d_ Is it possible that long-term use of vehicles even   makes sense?   Many durable consumer goods - such as cars - are today disposed of prematurely   to be replaced by new vehicles. This   often happens with the desire to protect the environment. Could it be that a   change of perspective leads to new insights, that, for example, by  extending the useful life, the environment and the existing resources _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_even be spared? To answer this question, we look at the life cycle of a  car from manufacture to disposal and the resulting  pollutants (e.g. CO2). Resource consumption and the sustainable use of resources   are examined more closely here, because all theory is gray   and so Herwig Wittlake and his team consider three very _cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_various vehicles: - a Mercedes 300 SE of the W140 series with 1 million kilometers on the clock, - an extremely rare Mercedes 220 OTP of the W187 series (Open Touring Car Police, only 41 units were built) and - a never from scratch on restored Mercedes 190s from the W121 series, which have always been repaired in line with current market value, and which will be presented by their owners on the PS.Halle stage. The fact that these cars are still "on the road" has to do with care and maintenance, among other things.  uns a classic car specialist and type consultant from Mercedes Benz explains what you can do to ensure a long service life. All this and why the "fun" factor is an important one Role   plays, you can find out this evening from the FörderFreunde in  PS.SPEICHER. Admission is €10; FörderFreunde have free access. Tickets   are available in advance at PS.SPEICHER or at the box office. In order to make planning easier for the FörderFreunde team, interested parties are requested to contact the FörderFreunde office on Telursula.raschke@ps-speicher.deto register in advance.
