FörderFreunde lecture: Jürgen Becker: Your disco, history in slices - How music makes politics

“Deine Disco” is a cabaret program like no other: politics, records, protests and punchlines are mixed live on stage as a rousing radio show. You delve satirically deep into the sound files of the active youth and in the end even save the future: Follow the Science.

Time & Location

28 Jun 2024, 19:00 – 20:30

PS.Halle, Tiedexer Tor 3, 37574 Einbeck, Germany

About the event

Without the groundbreaking invention of the electric guitar, history would have been different. The 1968s, Jimi Hendrix, the hippies, Janis Joplin and Woodstock would not have happened as we know them without the invention of the electric guitar.

It is the soundtrack and its resonances in society that make a movement successful. The squatters had clay stone shards and the peace movement had bots & BAP. The women's movement had Ina Deter, the punkers had Patti Smith. The climate movement today has no sound of its own and is in danger of losing out: the earth is constantly getting hotter.A catastrophe that Jürgen Becker analyzes perfectly with “Deine Disco”.

"Your disco" is a cabaret program like no other: politics, records, protests and punchlines are mixed live on stage as a rousing radio show. You delve satirically deep into the sound files of the active youth and in the end even save the future: Follow the Science.

But don't forget the emotions! It was not for nothing that Joseph Beuys replied to the question of whether one could change the world with art: "Only with art!"

Admission to the lecture is ten euros, supporters have free access, spontaneous guests are of course welcome, but unfortunately we cannot guarantee a place.
