About the event
Titus Dittmann has shaped the skateboard scene in Germany and Europe for the past 40 years. He recognized early on that skateboarding is more than a trend sport or leisure activity. The board with the four rolls is "adults-unsuitable means of expression and living environment".
Honored with renowned awards from business and society, including the Federal Cross of Merit for social commitment, Titus Dittmann has arrived in the "establishment". He uses his contacts in politics, media and culture to campaign for the "pubescent snotty fools". And remains true to his target group, his ideals and his passion.
Credibility is its greatest asset. Despite all the growth and success, Titus Dittmann has always seen the other side of the coin: In 2006 his company was in a crisis that threatened its very existence. At an age when others think of “life after career”, he started again. People who know him well say: "Titus can't help it."
Shortly thereafter, Titus Dittmann established his own foundation. With skate-aid he supports projects worldwide that use the educational power of skateboarding to empower children. Where life is marked by terror, violence and destruction, he wants to get children's hope rolling. In the spring of 2010, together with the cooperation partner Grünhelme eV, he built the first skate-aid skate park at a school in Karokh (Afghanistan).
Dittmann published his biography in autumn 2012 under the title “Brett für die Welt”. In addition, as a social entrepreneur, he is always on the job to initiate, move and advance things - whether for skate-aid, whether on the subject of education or entrepreneurship: Titus Dittmann remains true to himself. In cooperation with the Westfälische Wilhelms University, he initiates the research project "Skating instead of Ritalin" and is pushing ahead with the new construction of skate-aid skate parks in Windhoek (South Africa) and Damascus (Syria).
We promise you that Titus Dittmann will move and inspire; he shakes things up and tackles things, has achieved a lot and is happy to pass on his experience to young and old. It is impossible to report on everything that Titus Dittmann tackles and pushes. Interested parties should therefore definitely attend the lecture and get an idea of him and his actions.
