Film music composers do their work in the background. Anyone who sees Star Wars, Robin Hood, Indiana Jones or Superman on the screen gets intoxicated by the great pictures. He thinks. Because he doesn't pay too much attention to what his ears tell him. But without music, the pictures wouldn't be as colourful, Robin Hood wouldn't be so heroic, Wonder Woman wouldn't be so wonderfully feminine and Superman wouldn't be so strong.
We recognize our screen superheroes long before they appear: when their music hits. Film music composers like John Williams, James Homer or Alan Silvestri are superheroes of the leitmotif, they create atmosphere, paint pictures in sounds.
