Hunt House Car

A Streamlined Motorhome

Silver model of a streamlined “Hunt House Car” motorhome against a white background, with a rounded egg shape, large curved windscreens, side windows and fine body details.

At first glance, this model looks like a small streamlined bus; in fact, it represents one of the most unusual early motorhomes: the Hunt House Car. The original vehicle was created around 1940 in the USA. Based on a 1937 Ford pick-up truck, cameraman and car enthusiast J. Roy Hunt designed the aerodynamic body. Inside, the vehicle offered a level of comfort that was remarkable for its time: a kitchen, a bathroom with shower and fold-out toilet, a writing desk, a make-up station and even space for a television, making the Hunt House Car one of the first truly functional motorhomes for travel.

The Hunt House Car model by Autocult translates this rarity into 1:43 scale. The finely detailed resin body emphasises the distinctive shape, with its strongly rounded rear and clean lines. Autocult specialises in rare, iconic vehicles, and instead of everyday cars, its range features unique mobile one-offs and technical curiosities. The Hunt House Car model is part of Autocult’s motorhome edition.
