Manufacturer: Märklin

Märklin, best known today as a manufacturer of model railways, offered an extensive range of 1:43-scale car models in the 1950s and 1960s, including the Ford Taunus 15M.

The models have neither windows nor interiors yet still capture their full-size counterparts well. As they are held together simply by screws, they are easy to dismantle, which is why repainted examples are common today.

The origins of the Rüth Collection date back to the 1960s. This Ford Taunus 15M is one of its oldest models. Comparing it with the Ford displayed behind it, produced in the 1990s by Paul’s Model Art, now known as Minichamps, shows how model-making evolved over the decades.
